Our new temporary exhibition invites you to discover Jane Graverol, a major yet little-known artist of Belgian surrealism!
Jane Graverol met Magritte in 1949 at his studio on Esseghem Street. She is honored with about fifteen fascinating works. Her unique universe shares several common points with that of Magritte, particularly in her dream-like confrontation of humans with nature. The animal world fascinates her and has occupied a special place in her pictorial universe from an early age, often marked by the presence of cages, birds, and female bodies. Along with Rachel Baes, Graverol is considered one of the leading female artists of Belgian surrealism.
